Modeling Co-Channel Interference in the THz Band

Terahertz (THz) wireless technology is envisioned to enable terabit-per-second (Tbps) and secure transmissions in sixth-generation (6G) communication networks has attracted attention from academia industry recent years. Because the transmission range of THz radios restricted compared that microwave radios, frequency reuses band become much more flexible even possible among transceiver pairs close proximity. However, without appropriate spatial arrangement coordination, reuse can also lead severe co-channel interference result a low signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) or signal-to-interference (SIR), which finally degrades signal detection network reliability. To thoroughly study band, we model by compound channel analyze it detail. The adopted captures key features communication, such as, spreading loss, molecular absorption dynamic shadowing, different complicated than those used low-frequency band. resulted SINR SIR are investigated approximating sum as gamma distribution. generalized analytical results reduced specialized forms for two special cases, i.e., single-interferer case multiple independent identically distributed (i.i.d.) interferers.
